Fort Bend Herald, December 16, 2016: Albert Brooks Stavinoha, 85, of Richmond, Texas, passed away on December 15, 2016. He was born on August 22, 1931 in Wharton, Texas to Albert and Annie (Cernosek) Stavinoha. He honorably served our country during the Korean War and earned a Purple Heart. Brooks was a faithful member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Rosenberg. He held memberships with American Legion Post #271, V.F.W. Post #3903 and the D.A.V. Chapter #233. Brooks was employed with Gulf States Tubing for over 39 years. He loved his job and the men he worked with. His hobbies included working in the garden and tending to his yard. He enjoyed cooking and sharing his wonderful sausage kolaches and peanut brittle. He and his wife, Rose, enjoyed several trips to the casinos over the years. This loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend will be missed. In addition to his parents, Brooks is preceded in death by his brother, Alvin Stavinoha. Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Rose Stavinoha; son, James Stavinoha and wife, Laura; daughter, Michelle Stavinoha; grandchildren, Tiffany Meyer and husband, Derrick, Meghan, Garrett, McKenzie, and Macy Stavinoha, Dicey and Kenneth Jr. Schauer, and Brookes, Beau, Bailey, and Blythe Gonzales; great-granddaughter, Lakely Pantilla; sister-in-law, Elsie Stavinoha; along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m., with a Rosary at 4:00 p.m., Sunday, December 18, 2016 in the Chapel of Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Home in Rosenberg. The funeral mass will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, December 19, 2016, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, with Father William D. Bartniski officiating. Interment, with military honors, will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Rosenberg. Tributes and words of condolence may be left for the family at www.davisgreenlawnfh.com.
