Collins Dies in Childress Thursday Night Funeral services for William Enoch Collins of Childress were held in the First Baptist Church in Carey at 4 o'clock Friday afternoon. Rev. Jess Terry of Dora, M., Baptist minister, Rev. George Clark, pastor of the Carey Baptist Church and Rev. Robert Knight, pastor of the Methodist Church at Tell, officiated. Burial was in the Carey Cemetery with Spicer Funeral Home in charge. Mr. Collins, who was the brother of Andy Collins of Memphis, died Thursday night in Childress. A retired farmer, he was 86 years old. He was born Feb. 25, 1869, in Indiana and moved to East Texas from Illinois in 1918. In the following year, he came to Hall County and farmed in the Newlin community for two years before moving to Northfield, in Motley County. Then he moved to Carey, where he lived for about five years before going to Childress about 1 year ago. Mr. Collins was a member of the Methodist Church. Besides the brother, survivors include the widow, Mrs. Martha Collins of Childress; four sons, John Collins of Kirkland, Jim and Tom Collins of Childress, and Ralph Collins of Lubbock; four daughters, Mrs. A.B. Wyatt, of Tell, Mrs. Harley Skidemore of Childress, Mrs. S.C. Wade of Sunset, tex., Mrs. Faye Tipton of Wichita Falls; and 24 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren Two daughters preceded him in death.
