Marion Valde "Val" Gower, 75, passed away on Friday, December 2, 2016, in Terrell, Texas. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, December 10, 2016, at 1:00 p.m. at Florence Cemetery in Florence. Val was born in Alice, Texas, on June 1, 1941. He graduated from Luling High School. He married Nancy Kay McFall on November 2, 1957, and they were married 59 years and one month. Val worked in sales for several years. He then worked in law enforcement for two years before going back into sales as a real estate broker selling farms and ranches in Central and South Texas. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, arrowhead hunting and competition shooting. He was a lifelong Christian. Val is survived by his wife, Nancy; his children, Shane Gower and wife, Rhonda (Canton, Texas), and Valerie Fix and husband, David (Canyon, Texas); grandchildren Christy Exstrum and husband, David (Wichita, Kansas), Alan Gower and wife, Tracy (Leander), Katie Wilson andhusband, Dustin (Tyler, Texas), Staci McLean and husband, Seth (Wolfforth, Texas), Andrew Fix and wife, Rebecca (Oklahoma City, Oklahoma), and Rachel Pirtle and husband, Nathan (Fort Worth, Texas); great-grandchildren Brynlee Fix, Addison Fix, and Caleb Gower; sister, Connie Norris, and brother, Gordon Gower, Jr., andwife, Glynna (all from Prescott Valley, Arizona); and other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Gordon Gower, Sr., and Rita Knowles Gower. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to Sunny Glen Childrens Home, P.O. Box 1373, San Benito, Texas
