Bio

Alma was born to Rudolph and Bessie (Sladovnik) Suchan in Howells, Nebraska. The family moved to Stanton, NE in 1928. After graduating high school there, she worked in her father's grocery store. In 1945 she moved to St. Louis, Missouri where she worked in several federal agencies through the Civil Service Corps. After retirement in 1980, she continued to live in St. Louis until 2012 when she moved into a retirement community in Omaha, Nebraska. Alma enjoyed traveling extensively. She volunteered at Catholic Charities, was a member of the Stanton American Legion Post 88 Auxiliary for 76 years, and a member of the First Catholic Slovak Ladies Association. Preceding Alma in death were her parents, brother Harold Suchan, and nephew Richard Suchan.
