Bio

Michele Etier Davis, 65, devoted wife, mother and grandmother, passed away at home on May 31, 2011. She was born to Dr. Edgar Lee Etier, Jr. and Patricia Etier on January 15, 1946 in Fort Worth, Texas. Michele graduated from Paschal High School in Ft. Worth. She attended Rice University and studied biology. She married her high school sweetheart, Tom Davis, in 1966 and graduated from Texas Christian University in 1968 with a degree in biology and education. The couple moved to Houston in 1969 where Michele cultivated her 30 year teaching career. Michele taught biology and chemistry in Spring Branch ISD for a few years. She passionately served as science teacher and science coordinator and provided leadership for teachers and administrators in Alief ISD for more than 20 years. After her retirement in 1999, Michele immersed herself in her interests of gardening, sewing, cooking and volunteering. Michele was highly active in the Charity and Athletic Committees for the Westlake Club. She served on the Development Council for the College of Education at Texas A&M University. Michele was the current President of the Briar Grove Park Women's Club. Michele dearly loved volunteering at Hamilton Elementary where she faithfully tutored students twice weekly. She is survived by her beloved husband of forty-four years, Tom Davis; son, John Shannon Davis and wife Mary-Beth; daughter, Kathleen Willman and husband Kyle; grandchildren, Cassidy, Maren, Alex and Liam; mother, Patricia Etier; sister, Diane Robertson and husband Haney; sister Suzanne Etier; brother, Lee Etier and wife Jean; adored dog, Sassy; and numerous relatives and friends. A funeral liturgy will be held on June 25 at 11:00 am at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 19222 Tomball Parkway in Houston, 77070.
