Judith Anne “Judy” Watson, 72, of Grand Island died Friday, Nov. 18, 2016, at home. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Apfel Funeral Home in Grand Island. The Rev. Jim Garfield will officiate. Those attending are asked to wear their Husker attire. Interment will be in Westlawn Memorial Park at Grand Island. Judith was born on March 6, 1944, at Grand Island to Emanuel and Virginia Mae (Hatfield) Lukesh. She grew up and attended school in Grand Island, graduating from Grand Island Senior High. Judy married Eugene Watson on Sept. 22, 1963, at Grand Island. The couple made their home in Grand Island and Judy worked for the Jack & Jill Supermarket and the Veterans Affairs Hospital. She was an avid Nebraska Cornhuskers football fan and she enjoyed sewing, reading, baking, gardening and her pets. Her grandson, Logan, was her absolute pride and joy. Judy is survived by two sons, David Watson and Michael Jon Watson; two daughters, Debbie Watson and Christy Watson; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Ron and Jean Lukesh, and Doug and Lael Lukesh; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Barbara and Russ Johnson and Shauna and Dan Rock; and her grandson, Logan Watson of Lincoln. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gene; her parents; and her grandson, Steven.
