PELAN - Wednesday 10 a.m. services are scheduled at St. Bonaventure Catholic Church for Edward Pelan, 79, of 1623 19th Street. He died Monday at Columbus Manor after a long illness. Rites will be conducted by Rev. Regis Watts, with burial in St. Bonaventure Cemetery. Scripture services is 7:30 p.m. today at McKown Funeral Home where the body lies in state. Mr. Pelan was born March 14, 1897 in Saunders County, son of Thomas and Mary (Blazek) Pelan. He married Mary Coufal on Jan. 18, 1921 at St. Anthony Church, Bruno, and farmed in Butler County until moving to Columbus in 1945. Here he was a construction worker and member of St. Bonaventure Parish. Surviving are his wife; daughter, Mrs. Leo R. (Mary) Adamy of Bellwood; four grandsons; one great-granddaughter; two sisters, Mary Slama of David City, Rose Shutz of Otoe; three brother, Tom of Bruno, Ben of David City; Rudolph of the Columbus Manor. His Parents and two brothers, Emil and Louis, preceded him in death.
