Mary was born November 9, 1873. According to burial records she was the daughter of Z.T. Scott. Zachary Taylor Scott was the husband of Mary Patton Jones. Mary was one of 10 siblings born to them. Mary wed Fred P. Saffell on December 25, 1904, in Morgan County, Tennessee. They were the parents of a son,Clement Hale and daughter, Thelma Melissa.Mary died on July 20, 1962, and is buried in Wartburg Cemetery, Morgan County, Tn.
