Bio

Memorial #64088085 1863-1934 at Tabor, SD, Czech cemetery may be his resting place. I believe Vaclav translates to James. James Smolik came to SD in oxen-drawn wagon to settle at Yankton, SD, where he lived until 1911. Then he homesteaded near Timber Lake, SD. in Corson County. His wife died before the last move. He kept his family together and the house in an orderly fashion even to the cooking and baking. Children: Kamila (James) Hervert, Edward, Delphia, Olga Cinek, Ethel Diask, Otto, James, George, and Ted.
