Bio

Charlotte Edna (Marshall) Anderson was born Sept. 14, 1935, to Phillip and Esther (Yellow Hair) Marshall at Pine Ridge, S.D. She was one of 10 children. Charlotte went to boarding school at Pine Ridge, S.D., from primary to ninth grade. She graduated from Bennett County High School in Marlin, S.D., in 1954 Charlotte met and later married Ival Anderson Nov. 14, 1954, and to this union were born five daughters, Ladene, Louella, Debra, Dottie and Beth. Charlotte was a stay-at-home mom for most of her married life till her husband passed away. She then became a health care provider for many years until she retired. After retirement Charlotte did some traveling with her family and sometimes on her own. Charlotte sold her home and moved into Husker Homes in Ansley in 2008, where she resided till her death. Charlotte loved cats and working on jig-saw puzzles. Survivors include three daughters, Ladene (Wayne) Hammond of Broken Bow, Louella (Tom) Leggett of Berwyn, and Dottie (Dave) Shoemaker of Gregory, S.D.; two sons-in-law, Herb Thompson of Broken Bow, and Tim Brandt of Pleasanton; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Darwin Marshall of Dell Rapids, S.D., and Kenneth Marshall of Madison, S.D.; two sisters, Lynn Beem of Rapid City, S.D,. and Avril Livermont of Wanblee, S.D. Charlotte was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ival; two daughters, Debra and Beth; three brothers; and two sisters. Funeral services were Monday Nov. 14, 2016, at Govier Brothers Mortuary in Broken Bow with Pastor Creig Mills officiating. Burial was in the Ansley Cemetery.
