" Alfred (Carl) Koontz, 90, Lincoln,NE formerly of Humboldt, Nebraska, died Saturday, August 11, 2007. Born in Wichita, KS to William Carl & Ozola Ruth (Harman) Koontz on December 18, 1916. He was the third of five boys and a 1935 graduate of Auburn High School. Carl later moved to Wichita, KS, where he drove transport from Wichita to California. He graduated from Texas A & M with a Bachelors of Science Degree. He served from 1939 to 1945 in the 35th Division, 320th Regiment of the Army - Infantry Division. He married Edythe Marie Kessler in 1946 . He worked for the State of Nebraska and farmed in Stella, NE. Carl and his family moved to Humboldt, where he was employed for 10 years at Cooper Feed Mill as a chemist. He moved to Lincoln in 1966 and was employed by Archer Daniel Midlands (A.D.M.) until his retirement in 1980. With Edythe he had One son: Wm (Bill) and Daughters: Anita (Jodi) Pamela Jackie Jerri Karla Marlene K. -Preceded in death by wife Edythe M., parents, brothers Edgar Harman, William Oran, Gordon Howe, Robert Warren, and 2nd wife Eleanor (Krafka) Koontz ."
