"Verna Jean Owens, 84 years, of Omaha, Nebraska died Saturday, November 5, 2016 at St. Joseph’s Villa in Omaha, Nebraska. Verna was born on November 24, 1931 in North Bend, Nebraska to James and Roberta (Moody) Ruff. She lived in North Bend most of her life. Verna married Julius Ustohal in June of 1947 in North Bend. He preceded her in death in June 1967. She married William Owens. He also preceded her in death. Verna later moved to Omaha. She was a former member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in North Bend. She liked the outdoors, gardening, bird watching, and she was an avid Husker fan. She was extremely devoted to her family. She is survived by son, Steve and wife, Rhonda Ustohal of Fremont; daughters, Jackie and husband, Don Kadlec of Fremont and Sherry Ustohal of Omaha; stepson, John and wife, Johanna Owens of Omaha; brother, Jerry and wife, Bev of Omaha; fifteen grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Julius Ustohal and William Owens; brother, James Ruff, sister, Patricia Luger; and grandchildren, Dustin Ustohal and Jeremy Ustohal. Memorial Service will be 10:30 A.M., Friday, November 11, 2016 at Moser Memorial Chapel in North Bend. The Rev. Johnice Orduna will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be at Woodland Cemetery in North Bend. Memorials may be directed to the family for a charity yet to be determined."
