Bio

Dolores A. (Vanek) Divin, age 75, of West, passed away Wednesday morning, November 2, 2016 at Providence Hospice Place in Waco. A rosary will be recited 5:00 p.m. Sunday at the Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel in West, with visitation to follow until 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Monday at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption, Rev. Anthony Odiong and Rev. Paul Hudson as celebrants. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery. Dolores was born January 17, 1941 in Penelope, the daughter of the late Louis and Regina (Cernosek) Vanek. She was a 1959 graduate of Penelope High School. On November 12, 1960 she was united in marriage to Joe Frank Divin in Abbott. Joe Frank preceded her in death on November 2, 2011. Dolores was a Mother and Homemaker. She previously worked for Harold's Clothing in Hillsboro and American Amicable Life Insurance Company in Waco. Dolores was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in West. She was also a member of Catholic Daughter's of America Court #829, St. Anne's Altar Society and Women's Acts. Dolores enjoyed making kolaches, traveling, gardening and praying. She especially loved spending time with her family, her many friends and her dog "Buffy". Survivors include three sons, Jeff Divin and wife Carrie of West, Todd Divin and wife Janet of College Station, and Brent Divin and wife Melissa of Stephenville; a brother, Daniel Vanek and wife Catherine; a sister, Diane Hejl and husband Eugene; grandchildren, April and husband Cameron, Jacob, Caitlyn, Brandon, Trinity, Abby, Aidan, Jaxson, Allison and Elizabeth; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Pallbearers are Dennis Hejl, Mike Vanek, Daniel Vanek, Brandon Divin, Steven Vanek and Alan Vanek. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Mary's School Wish List or St. Catherine's Hospice.
