Husband of Rosanna C Boutwell, married 8 Dec 1858 Lauderdale Co., MS. They had one child, Rosanna E. McElroy. Cyrus was a Confederate soldier Co. C, 4th Ms Cav.,died from smallpox while POW at Alton, IL. He was likely buried on Tow Island, which is now covered by a higher level Miss River.
