Mary Estelle Dotson-Johnston passed away on Oct. 23, 2016,in Terrell. Estelle was born July 25, 1930, in the Catholic Church at 3811 Oak Lawn Ave. in Dallas. Estelle has gone to join her parents, Horace and Ruth Cotter-Dotson, her sister, Vera, and her two brothers, Johnny and Horace Jr. Estelle is also preceded in death by her husband of 25 years, Alex "Jake" Johnston. For many years, Estelle lived in both Terrell and McKinney. In her life, Estelle worked as a professional legal secretary, as well as a telephone company operator. More than anything, Estelle was a determined, dedicated and devoted mother to six children — Loraine, Kathy, Suzy, David, Michael and Joey — who were blessed to have Estelle in their lives, and in the lives of 11 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Friends, family and all who knew Estelle are invited to share in her visitation services at 6-8 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 28, 2016, and a Catholic memorial service at 10 a.m., on Saturday, Oct. 29, 2016. Both services will be at Max Slayton Funerals, 642 N. Rockwall Ave. in Terrell. Estelle will be laid to rest next to family members at the Fitzhugh Cemetery in Lucas.
