Bio

Julia Aerts, 95, of Falls City, NE passed away on October 25, 2016. She was born to the late Leo and Frances (Kramer) Hilger on May 7, 1921 at Cedar Rapids, NE. Julia married Leo Aerts on November 23, 1943 at David City, NE. He later passed away on October 4, 2009. Julia was raised in Butler County on a farm. When married the couple established their home on a farm near David City while he worked on the family farm and then she moved into David City in 1945 when her husband left for the war. Throughout her life she painted and finished numerous homes and offices. She later retired in 1991. She then moved to Falls City in April of 2011. She enjoyed gardening, working on puzzles, and playing cards. She was a member of the Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, the Alter Society, Past President of the Parish Council of Catholic Women of David City, NE. Julia is survived by sons, David Aerts of Kansas City, MO; Dr. Richard Aerts and his wife Linden of Cedar Rapids, IA; daughters, Carol Heineman of Falls City, Kathleen Davis and her husband John of Auburn, NE; nine grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandson. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers; Paul Hilger, Alfred Hilger Sr., Arnold Hilger, Leo "Bud" Hilger Jr., and son-in-law James Heineman. A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, November 5, 2016 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in David City, NE with Father Bernard Kimminau as the presiding priest. Inurnment will be at the St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery. A Parish Rosary will be recited on Saturday, November 5, 2016 at 9:30 A.M. at the St. Mary's Catholic Church in David City, NE.
