Merline B Coulson, 89, of Hurst, Texas passed away on Thursday, June 16, 2016 in Bedford, Texas. Merline Byrd was born January 10, 1927 in Cleburne, Texas to Charley B. Byrd and Myrtle Bertha Eddington Byrd. She graduated from Midlothian High School and received her Secretarial & Business Accounting Degree from Draughn Business School in Fort Worth. Merline married Billy E. Coulson on August 31, 1947 in the front yard of the Byrd family farm in Midlothian. Merline worked at the Pangburn's Chocolates and various other firms doing accounting work. She was a member of Shady Oaks Baptist Church and had a passion for gardening, working in her yard, traveling and sewing. Mrs. Coulson was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Ruby Baxter, and three brothers, C.B. Byrd, Marvin Byrd, and Robert Byrd. Survivors include her husband of 68 years, Bill Coulson of Hurst, children: Judy Bell and husband Bill of Fort Worth, Linda Wallace and husband Charlie of Euless, Gary Coulson and wife Jackie of Hurst, grandchildren: Brandie Smith, Leslie Clark, Danny Coulson, Garrett Wallace, Steve Bell, Clayton Wallace and Rachel Bell, great-grandchildren: Jenna Smith, Mackenzie Smith, Dawson Coulson, Artie Byrd Clark, Dakota Coulson, Maison Bartlow, Kaya Bartlow and Grant Bell, sisters, Bertha Keith of Hermiston, Oregon and Pat Cox of Duncanville, Texas.
