Bio
Nancy Carolyn Nelson of Ozark passed away Monday, October 10, 2016 at Dale Medical Center. She was 71. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, October 13, 2016 in the Earl Bankston Memorial Chapel of Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home with Dr. Billy Gaither officiating. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 5-7 pm at the funeral home. Mrs. Nelson was born in Roswell, New Mexico January 26, 1945 to the late Clarence Virgil Beech and Lottie Mae Flynt Beech. She was a member of Union Springs United Methodist Church and a member of Wiregrass Order of Eastern Star Ashford Chapter 519. She and her husband Gene were married at Ft. Rucker, Al in 1967, and as a devoted wife and mother, followed him worldwide on many different military assignments. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother Harold Boyles, and father in law Clarence "Ed" Nelson. She is survived by her husband, Gene Nelson; son, Robert Nelson of Owens Crossroads, AL.; daughter, Carol (Glenn) Dean of Elmore, AL.; grandchildren, Zachary (Brandy) Nelson of Brandon, FL.; Katelyn Nelson of Woodbridge , VA.; Brittany Gray of Ozark, AL.; and Sydney Gray of Elmore, AL.; great grandchildren, Braylen and De Laney; brothers Jimmy Boyles of Jackson, MS.; Lou (Suzanne) Boyles of Biloxi, MS.; mother in law Sarah Nelson of Ozark, AL; and several nieces and nephews.
