Joyce Vernice "Memaw" Martin, age 81, of Emory, formerly of Wills Point, passed away Wednesday evening at her home. Funeral service is scheduled for 2:00 PM, Saturday, October 8, 2016, at Wilson-Orwosky Funeral Home Chapel in Emory, with Bro. Perry Crisp officiating. Burial will follow in the Lake Fork Memorial Cemetery in Alba. Visitation is scheduled 1 hour prior to the service at 1:00 PM, on Saturday, October 8, 2016 at the Wilson-Orwosky Funeral Home Chapel. Vernice was born on July 19, 1935, in Princeton, to Elbert Jasper and Bonnie Mitchell Wright. Later she married Alvin Cave on January 16, 1952. To this union was born 8 wonderful children. Vernice, or "Memaw" worked for many years managing apartment complexes, but the most important job in her life was being a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Surviving her are 2 Daughters: Judy Anderson (Jack) of Emory and Carol Cave of Wills Point; 4 Sons: Randy Cave of Emory, Malcom Cave of Emory, Jimmy Cave (Linda) of Glenn Heights and James Cave (Chrissie) of Corinth; 3 Sisters: Erma Herron (Ernie) of Santos, Bobbie Cullum (Mohammad Rahman) of Dallas and Glynda Davis (Kenneth) of Haslet; 2 Sisters-in-law: Barbara Wright of Saginaw and Melba Sasso of McKinney; 17 Grandchildren; 43 Great-grandchildren; 12 Great-great-grandchildren; Loving 4 Legged Companion: Sparky; Numerous other loving family and friends; Vernice was preceeded in death by her parents; Husband: Alvin Cave; 1 Daughter: Vickie Linn Cave; 1 Son: Alton Loyd Cave II "Bubba"; 2 Brothers: Elbert "Winford" Wright and Hershel Lee "Chink" Wright; 1 Granddaughter: Julie Melissa Wooten-Sorrow; and 1 Grandson: Ace Ryan Cave ************************** NOTE: Her birth certificate lists Parkland Hospital in Dallas as the place she was born.
