Kenneth L. Hawthorne, 74, of Waverly, passed away October 5, 2016 at home after a long battle with diabetes and kidney failure. Born October 14, 1941 in Fullerton, NE to Edward "LaVern" and Verna "Ivilla" (Good) Hawthorne. Retired welder with Goodyear after 36 years. Former member of the Waverly Volunteer Fire Dept., Goodyear Sportsman Club and United Steel Workers Union #286. Family members include his wife, Sandra; daughters, Kendy Pagles and Terri Hawthorne, Lincoln; daughter-in-law, Shelly Hawthorne; grandchildren and spouses, Ryan and Sarah Hawthorne, Zach and Caitlyn Hawthorne, Scott Pagles, Tanner and Kari Pagles, and Cody Pagles; great-grandchildren, Raelynn, Jackson and Axel; sister, LaVonne (Mick) Lile, Plattsmouth, NE. Preceded in death by parents; son, Russ; sisters, Bonnie Houdek and Verna Dryer; son-in-law, Rob Pagles. Funeral Service: 11:00 a.m. Monday (10-10-16) Roper and Sons Chapel, 4300 'O' Street with Pastor Jeff Adams officiating. A luncheon will be held at Roper and Sons immediately after the service prior to burial at Rosehill Cemetery, Waverly.
