Bio

Deborah "Debbie" M. Schraer, 64 of San Antonio, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, Sept. 28th, 2016 at Methodist Stone Oak Hospital surrounded by her loving family. Debbie left her birth home of Columbus, Nebraska in 1973 to begin her career with the Brownsville Independent School District. Upon her retirement, she moved to San Antonio. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister and aunt. Deborah was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed not only by her family and friends but by all those fortunate to have known her during her thirty-five-year plus career as a special education teacher. Debbie is preceded in death by her father, Slyvester "Ves" C. Zuerlein; a sister, Julie D. Zuerlein Grace; and a brother, Joseph C. Zuerlein. She is survived by her loving husband of 32 years, Ronald G. Schraer; three sons: Adam D. Schraer (Vanessa), Erik A. Olivarez (Jordan) and Elliot N. Schraer; three daughters: Mimosa M. Flores (Robert); Amanda J. Lopez and Emily R. Schraer. 10 grandchildren; her mother Rosemary C. Zuerlein Moore (Joe); a brother Peter S. Zuerlein (Karen); three sisters; Connie J. Schneider (Bruce), Margaret "Peg" M. Graf (Tim) and Mary B. Emanuel (Brad); along with numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family members and friends. Visitation will start at 6:00 pm and continue through 9:00 pm Monday October 3, 2016, in the chapel at Mission Park Funeral Chapels Stone Oak Funeral Home 23645 US-281, San Antonio, TX 78258. A celebration of life service will begin at 10:00 am on Tuesday October 4, 2016 at Mission Park Funeral Chapels Stone Oak Funeral Home with a reception to follow immediately following the conclusion of the service. A private graveside burial will be held for family members and friends later that day at 2:00 pm at the Mission Park North Dominion Cemetery.
