Numerous friends will regret to learn of the death of Mrs. John Sembera, nee Mary Vinklarek of La Salle, Texas, who passed away suddenly of a heart attack at a Cuero hospital Wednesday of the past week. She was born in Shiner [handwriting on newspaper unreadable], the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Vinklarek. In 1928 she moved to La Salle. She was married Nov. 11, 1902 by Rev. Hudecek. Surviving are 9 sons and 3 daughters, Joe of Wharton; John of California; Jim of Vanderbilt; Jerry, U.S. Army; Frank, U.S. navy; Charlie of Edna; Adolf, Leo and Benjamin at home; Mrs. Leo Toman (Mary) of Clodine; Mrs. Leo Sralla (Tillie) of la Salle and Janie at home. Ten grandchildren also survive. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1933 and by a daughter, Teresa, age 19, in 1941. Mrs. Sembera was a sister of Jim Vinklarek of Dilworth. Her sister Tillie passed away a year ago on the same date of the passing of her brother, Joe, in 1913. Interment was made in the La Salle Catholic Cemetery after Solemn Requiem Mass celebrated by the pastor, Rev. Ed. Murski, assisted by Rev. Henry Psencik of St. Mary's as Deacon and Rev. Albert Maneth of Ganado, sub deacon, Rev. David Buckley of Edna and Rev. Emil Vinklarek of Hondo were in attendance. Rev. Vinklarek delivered the sermon paying a glowing tribute to a truly Christian mother who had reared 13 children. For many years Mrs. Sembera had been president of the K.J.Z.T. Society of La Salle. Attending the last sad rites from here were Dr. and Mrs. C.L. Kopecky, Joe Kopecky and Mrs. Frances Strauss of Hallettsville. Our sympathy is extended the bereaved.
