Suggested edit: Please add this obituary. Thanks Services for Carroll J. Garrett, 71, who resided at Eventide Nursing Home the past two months, were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct 5, In Richland Springs First Baptist Church. The Rev. Hugh McGee conducted the services, with interment in Richland Cemetery under direction of Howell-Doran Funeral Home. Pallbearers were Bernie Pearce, Casey Pearce, E, C. Carroll, J. L. Carroll, Burlie and Robert Korenek. Mr. Garrett, a service station operator, died Oct. 3 In San Saba Memorial Hospital. He was born Oct. 29, 1902 in San Saba County to Samuel A. Garrett and Elizabeth Ross Garrett. He was a member of the Baptist Church and Masonic Lodge. Survivors are four brothers, H, O. Garrett of Waco; Anson and Layton Garrett of Richland Springs, Earl Garrett of Lubbock; two sisters, Mrs. Nannie Rogers and Mrs. Clara Bolinger of Richland Springs and a number of nieces and nephews.
