Bio

Ernest Hula, 88, of Weston, Nebraska, passed away at his home on September 25, 2016. He was born on October 31, 2016 to Ignac and Agnes (Chmelka) Hula, on the family farm near Weston. Ernest went to a country school along Highway 92 until the eighth grade. He was drafted into the U.S. Army on January 11, 1951 and served until May 24, 1952. On October 7, 1952, he was united in marriage to Norma Jean Frahm. Ernest was a member of the Holy Trinity Catholic Church and the Brainard Rejda Legion Post No. 273. He enjoyed farming and Polka music. Ernest is survived by: his children, Beverly (Terry) Brugman and Ronald (Vicky) Hula; sister, Rosalyn Hofpar; sister-in-law, Gladys Svoboda; grandchildren, Charlotte (Mitchell) Greenwall, Lucas (Jen) Brugman, Brian (Vawn) Hula and Scott (Kate) Hula; great-grandchildren, Elias and Asher Greenwall; Brianna, Timber and Benjamin Hula; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by: his parents; wife, Norma Jean; siblings and in-laws, Adolf (Dorothy) Hula, Martha (Leonard) Sabata, Mildred (Ed) Jakub, John Hofpar and Emanuel Svoboda. Funeral Mass on Friday, September 30, 2016 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Brainard. Burial will be at Holy Trinity Catholic Cemetery in Brainard, Nebraska.
