Carolyn Audrey Gabbard, 87, of Huntsville, Arkansas, died September 23, 2016 at Circle of Life Hospice in Springdale, Arkansas. She was born May 17, 1929 at Ball Creek, Arkansas, the daughter of Hershel Charles and Elizabeth Witt Nelson. She was a homemaker, a Primitive Baptist and the widow of Leroy Gabbard who preceded her in death on July 27, 1993. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Kelly Nelson and Bearl Nelson. Survivors include: two daughters, Barbara Gabbard Long of Cullman, Alabama and Tina Michelle Gabbard of Conway, Arkansas; one sister, Lucille Foster of Pateros, Washington; one grandson and granddaughter-in-law, Jared Ryan and Valerie Long of Eva, Alabama; one granddaughter, Lisa Beth Long of Cullman, Alabama and one great-granddaughter, Ava Ryleigh Long of Eva, Alabama. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 A. M. Monday, September 26, at the Ledbetter Cemetery near Japton, Arkansas with The Reverend Lloyd Mayes officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Brashears Funeral Home of Huntsville, Arkansas. Pallbearers will be: Jared Long, Michael Nelson, Terry Nelson, Rod Nelson, John Goodnight and Cord Goodnight.
