Bio
Mrs. Margaret Payne was born August 12, 1891 in Pettis county in the Hopewell community, daughter of David and Susan Hammond Butterbaugh. She was married on November 14, 1907 to Allen Payne, and they had 10 children. Margaret died Sunday at Rest Haven Nursing Home, aged 77 years. Surviving are seven daughters, Mrs. Ella Siron, Mrs. Pauline Hieronymus, Mrs. Betty Townsend, Mrs. Jean Sunderwirth, Mrs, Delores Baker, Mrs. Neva Evans and Miss Maxine Payne, two sons Claude and Warren Payne, a sister, Miss Goldie Butterbaugh, and a half brother, W. R. Ditton. She was preceded in death by her husband Allen on December 10, 1941. Burial will be in Hopewell cemetery. - Sedalia Democrat - Monday, January 6, 1969 pg.4
