~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Grand Island (Nebraska) Independent Friday, 30 June 1916, page 6 Mrs. Anna Ropers, residing on a farm two miles east of Chapman, passed away yesterday afternoon at St. Francis hospital following a recent operation. Mrs. Ropers was born in Wisconsin on February 28, 1880, and was 36 years, four months and one day old at the time of her death. Besides her heartbroken husband and her parents, she leaves seven children to mourn her untimely loss. The funeral will take place on Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the farm home two miles east of Chapman, interment being made in the Chapman cemetery. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Grand Island (Nebraska) Independent Friday, 7 July 1916 "Briefs from all around the County" CHAPMAN Mrs. Henry Ropers passed away at the hospital in Grand Island Thursday of last week and was buried in the Chapman cemetery Sunday afternoon. Services were held at the home and at the Baptist church here, conducted by Rev. Welchert. Mrs. Ropers was sick for some time and an operation was decided upon. She failed to recover from the effects of the operation. She leaves her husband and seven children, who deeply mourn the loss of wife and mother. The sincere sympathy of the entire community is extended to the bereaved ones in their hour of sorrow.
