Bio

Martha Brown Duvall was born October 1833 in Lauderdale County, Alabama. She died 1 June 1902 in Pecan Gap, Delta County, Texas. She is buried in Giles Cemetery, Delta County, Texas. Her parents were Obediah Brown and Sarah "Sally" Cox, both of whom are buried in the Center Star Cemetery in Mantachie, Itawamba County, Mississippi in unmarked graves. Martha married Eli M. Duvall 10 April 1851 in Itawamba County, Mississippi. They had 14 children. She was very close to her sister, Melissa Brown Hancock (Nov 7, 1844-Oct 9, 1914) who also is buried in the Giles Cemetery.
