C. Swadley entertained Sunday afternoon with tea, announcing the approaching marriage of her daughter, Miss Rowena Swadley to Ralph Clark of Waco. The house was beautifully decorated with roses and sweet peas. Mrs. Swadley, Miss Rowena, Mrs. Clark of Blum, Miss Ara Clark of Dallas, mother and sister of Mr. Clark were in the receiving line. The guests were escorted to the dining room by Mrs. R. G. Watkins where tea was poured. The dining table was covered with an all-over lace cloth, centered with a bowl of pink rose buds. Miss Florine Hinton, Miss Marie Cunningham, Miss Pauline Hughes, Miss Theresa Bounds and Mrs. J. Y. Page poured tea. During the afternoon vocal solos were given by Mrs. E. I. Hight, Mrs. Taylor Irvin of Fort Worth and Mrs. Hulon Coffman of Dallas. MIsses Teresa Bounds, Mary Sue Hancock, Betty Ray Swadley and Paula Page and Mrs. Clyde Brown of Dallas, delighted the guests with piano solos. Some two hundred guests called during the afternoon.
