Bio
John married Martha Groves in Sumner CO, TN on June 26, 1850. The 1860 Federal Census Records show John living in Paducah, McCracken CO, KY; in the and the 1870 and 1880 Federal Census Records,he is living in Obion CO, TN, 13th Civil District, Union City, TN. For a time period, John and his family also lived in Allen CO, KY, (which is located just above Sumner CO, TN) as son Leander (born 1853) and daughter Mary Ann's (born 1855) KY Birth Records gives this as the parents' place of residence. John registered with the US Civil War Draft Registration in June of 1863 in McCracken CO, KY. John ran a hotel in Union City, TN, prior to his passing.
