Marion was born to Joseph and Gertrude (Tomasiewicz) Augustyn He served in the United States Army and graduated from Kearney State College with his Bachelor's Degree in Accounting. He was married to Mary Fochtman on June 6-1957 at Christ the King Catholic Church in Cozad. They had 11 children While at Kearney State College he played football, which led to his love of watching football. He enjoyed gardening, farming in Pasadena, jigsaw and crossword puzzles, playing cards, pool, holidays, barbecue's fishing and spending time with his family.
