Mary's sister Minnie was married to Claudius (Claud) Dunavant, who was a brother of Mary's husand, Walter A. Dunavant. Waxahachie (TX) Daily Light, September, 1982, p. 12, col. 1 Mrs. Mary Dunavant, 74, died early today in W. C. Tenery Community Hospital Funeral services will be at 2:30 pm. Saturday in Rudolph-Snider chapel of the chimes with Wayne England of the Northside Church of Christ officiating. Burial will be in Bells Chapel Cemetery in Rockett. Mrs. Dunavant, a member of the College Street Church of Christ, had lived in Waxahachie the past 10 years and was a lifetime Texas resident. She was preceded in death by her husband, W. A. Dunavant, in 1966. Survivors include a son, Walter Dunavant of DeSoto; a Dixie Dunavant of Hillsboro; 5 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; 6 sisters including, Minnie Dunavant of Ferris, Mrs. Helen Shaefer and Mrs. Jackie Mitchell, both of Dallas, Mrs. Kathleen Dean of Fort Worth, and Mrs. Dora Moon of Mabank; and a brother, Dan Sanderson of Dallas. Services 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Rudolph-Snider Funeral Chapel of the Chimes, Waxahachie.
