Bio

Doris Gene Koehl-Grammier, second daughter of Eugene H. Koehl and Lillie Fritsch Koehl, died June 10, 2017, in Richmond, TX. Doris was born in Fayetteville, Fayette County, TX, on October 23, 1928. She will join her parents and grandparents in the Fritsch Plot in the Fayetteville City Cemetery. She entered in marriage three times. The first marriage was to Jimmie C. Mazoch, who preceded her in death. From that union was born one child, Charlotte Vacek, who survives Doris. Also surviving her is Charlotte's husband, Leroy Vacek; grand daughter Leann Bravo and husband, Charlie; great grandson Terrie; grandson Nicholas Vacek and wife, Abigail; and great grand daughter Riley Paige. Her second marriage was to Vance Biondolilo, who preceded her in death. Survivors include step daughter Judy McDonald and husband, Jerry; and two step grandsons. Doris' third marriage was to Dr. Fred Grammier, who also preceded her in death. Survivors include step daughter, Cindy Stoneham-Grammier; step grandchildren, Lee, Rebecca and Ryan; step daughter, Darla Flynt; step grandchildren, Eden and Brodie. Her step son, Rolfe Grammier, also preceded her in death. For 58 years, Doris was a caregiver and business associate for Odis L. Simmons, deceased. Doris spent 8 years as a payroll specialist for the Houston Sports Association; Astro players and clubs were many of her acquaintances. Having been married to a baseball South Texas Hall of Famer probably encouraged her full life for sports people. Doris spent her retirement years in Richmond, TX, near family. She enjoyed caring for abandoned animals and flower-pot gardening on the patio. Special thanks to Cindy Stoneham-Grammier and caregiver, Carmen Alvarez and husband, Antonio. Visitation will be 5 - 7:00 PM Friday, June 16, 2017, at Garmany & Carden Funeral Directors Chapel, 1201 Fourth Street, Rosenberg, TX 77471, with a Rosary beginning at 7:00 PM. Burial will be 11 AM Saturday, June 17, 2017, in the Fayetteville City Cemetery, Fayetteville, TX. Memorials may be given in her memory to Fort Bend Animal Shelter, 1210 Blume Road, Rosenberg, TX 77471. Condolence messages may be written for the family at www.garmanycarden.com
