Bio

Mary T. Slovak, 93, passed away on Sunday, September 4, 2016, in Ennis, Texas. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, September 7, 2016, in the J.E. Keever Mortuary of Ennis, with Rosary at 7 p.m. A Celebration of life will be at 10 a.m., Thursday, September 8, 2016, in the J.E. Keever Mortuary of Ennis with Rev. Scott Robbins officiating. Interment will follow in the Oakland Cemetery of Terrell. Mary was born in Waco, Texas, to the late John and Theresa (Kovar) Stefka. She grew up in the McLennon-Bell County Area and graduated from Temple High School. On August 12, 1949, she married George Reznicek and after his passing, she was married to Bill Slovak on October 27, 1979. Mary worked for Continental Insurance Company for over 33 years as a lead clerk. She was a member of the St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church of Ennis and the Insurance Women's Club. She enjoyed crafting, especially needlepoint. She was preceded in death by her husbands, George Reznicek and Bill Slovak; sisters, Ann Stefka and Eva Hurta; and brother, John Frank Stefka. Survivors include her sisters, Pauline Barron and Aline Stanke; along with numerous nieces and nephews. H5
