HUMPHREY — Norma Jean Gilmore, 75, of Humphrey, died Wednesday, Aug. 31, 2016, at Nebraska Medical Center in Bellevue. A ceremony of life will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 4, at the Community Center in Humphrey. Norma was born May 7, 1941, in North Bend, the daughter of Albin and Delores (Laudenkos) Ondracek, and attended school to the third grade at Dodge County District 8 and graduated from North Bend High School in 1958. On Sept. 24, 1960, Norma and Larry Gilmore were united in marriage at North Bend. Moving to Humphrey, Norma and Larry owned The Avenue Bar for 36 years and she was known for her tireless energy, fiery spirit, lucky streak and quick wit, retiring in 2004. Norma had worked as a beautician and at the Fremont hospital. Surviving are her husband, Larry of Humphrey; daughter, Michelle and husband Terry Wemhoff and grandchildren Terin, Eric, Mikayla and Jenaya of Humphrey; brother, Ron and Janice Ondracek; and numerous relatives and friends whose lives she touched. Preceding in death were her parents and sister-in-law, Barb Ondracek. Memorials may be directed to the family's choice. Arrangements with Duesman Funeral Chapel of Humphrey.
