Austin--Kathleen A. Anderson, 66, of Austin, died Tuesday, Dec. 5, 2006, at St. Marys Hospital in Rochester. She was born Oct. 22, 1940, in Austin, Minn., to Richard and Frieda (Douglas) Downs. She graduated from Austin High School in 1959 and married Nathan Anderson on Aug. 8, 1959, at the First United Methodist Church in Austin. Kathleen was employed by the Minnesota Surety & Trust Company for a number of years and was a member of the First United Methodist Church. She is survived by daughter, Debora Anderson, Rose Creek, Minn.; sons: Kevin Anderson, Maplewood, Minn.; Timothy Anderson, Austin, Minn.; Shawn Anderson, Austin, Minn.; Matthew Anderson, Tempe, Ariz.; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sisters: Dixie Hanson, Austin, Minn.; Evon Troester, Austin, Minn.; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Nathan in 1999; and two sisters. Funeral services will be Friday, Dec. 8, 2006, at 11 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Patricia M. Toschak officiating. Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery in Austin. Visitation will be held at Clasen-Jordan Mortuary on Thursday from 4-8 p.m. and on Friday at the church for one hour before the service. Organist will be Becky Bissen. Soloist will be Coni Nelson. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Department of Development at the Mayo Clinic for the purpose of Arthritis Research.
