Bio
Thomas of Sargent passed away at his daughter's in Hershey. Funeral in Lincoln September 2 at Roper and Sons Funeral Home and burial services in Stromsburg. Dubas Funeral Home is in charge of local arrangements He attended Dawes Elementary School, Pershing Jr. High School and graduated from Lincoln Northeast High School in 1966. He then worked at the John Dietrick Bike Shop and later began his career with Burlington railroad. Thomas served in the U.S. Navy from 1968 to 1971. On June 26, 1969 he was united in marriage to Sheila Dale Strong in Lincoln. To this union one daughter was born. Upon returning from the service Thomas worked for Bruning Hydraulic Manufacturing in Lincoln for four years then continued his career with Burlington railroad as a carman welder, retiring in July of 2008. From 1971 until 1985 the family resided in Lincoln. From 1985 to 1992 they resided in Milford and from 2008 to present they lived in Sargent. Due to health, Tom and his wife have been staying with their daughter and son-in-law in Hershey. He was preceded in death by his parents John and Marilyn Lortz.
