Veronica Joan Kendrick passed away peacefully on August 27, 2016 in Georgetown, TX at the age of 66. To most she was known as Joanie, but to others she was known as Maw, Mom, Granny and Mrs. V. She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Ranzy Kendrick, daughter Brandi Kendrick, son and daughter-in-law, Christopher and Katie Kendrick, siblings Tim, and wife Helen Andel, Nickie Yalch, Bruno, and wife Wanda Andel, Cookie, and husband Tommy Michulka, Gary Andel, Betsy, and husband Danny Jan, sister-in-law Karen Klabzuba, grandsons Mikey, Elijah and Nolan, and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents Louis Andel and Elizabeth and Frank Buzek as well as brother Stanley Andel. Joanie was born on December 10, 1949 in Fort Bend County to Louis and Elizabeth Andel. She attended Lamar Consolidated High School in Rosenberg, TX. Though they went to school together, she met Ranzy while working at Gibson's Department Store in Rosenberg. "Ranzy wanted a date to our company party. His sister, Joyce, worked with me and suggested he ask me for a date." The date apparently went well as they married upon his return from a tour in Vietnam. Anyone who knew Joanie will remember her for her hugs, big heart, huge smile, zest for life, and unconditional love. Many will also remember her for her pinches. She was a giver, and didn't mind taking as much as she gave (in hugs at least!). She loved her family, especially being "Granny." She was an avid collector of cookbooks and crosses. When she was still able, she loved cooking and baking as well as planting and growing flowers. The family would like to thank the St. David's Georgetown staff for their efforts, and the Texas Oncology Round Rock staff and Standards Home Health staff for their continuous care. Rosary will be recited at 5:00 p.m. with visitation follow until 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 30, 2016, at Beck Chapel and Events, 170 County Road 214, Liberty Hill, Texas 78642. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 31, 2016, at Beck Chapel and Events, Liberty Hill, Texas. Interment will immediately follow in Our Lady of The Rosary, Georgetown, Texas.
