Mount Ayr Record-News September, 1944 OBITUARY - ANDREW RICHARDSON Andrew Richardson, son of William and Ellen Richardson, was born in Riley township, Ringgold Co., Iowa, on February 26, 1863, and departed this life at the home of his son, Fred, on September 5, 1944, at the age of 81 years, six months and 10 days. He was united in marriage to Emma M. Sullivan on May 30, 1888. To this union were born four children, Mrs. John G. Stephens of Mount Ayr, Mrs. Charles E. Burchett of Kellerton, and Fred and Homer, both of Lamoni. Mrs. Richardson preceded her husband in death on April 10, 1939. Mr. Richardson was always interested in his home and loved ones. He was a firm believer in the Bible. After the death of his life companion he turned to spiritual things for comfort, spending much time in the study of the Word. He was recognized as one of Riley township's successful farmers. Here he spent his entire life. He leaves to mourn his passing the four children, nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Three brothers, Jake, Charlie and George, together with many friends survive him. Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon from the Rhoades Funeral home, conducted by Rev. Frank MOORE.
