Ray Stevens March 10, 1924 - August 20, 2016 Ray Stevens, age 92, of Waxahachie, passed away Saturday, August 20, 2016 in Dallas. He was born March 10, 1924 in Winnsboro, Texas to James Verdo and Marlin (Gandy) Stevens. Ray was married to the love of his life Dorothy for 56 years. He served in the U. S. Ray was an avid Rangers fan (never missed a game), loved fishing and was never seen without his trademark hats. He had been a member of the First United Methodist Church in Red Oak for 10 years. Most of all Ray loved the Lord. That was evident by the way he loved people. He followed Christ’s example by being compassionate, generous and thoughtful. His smile and hug would always make your day better. Ray is a man who will be missed by all who knew him. Survivors include two sons, two grandsons, four great grandchildren, C.J., Hannah, Emma and Ava; one brother, and one sister. Ray was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Dorothy Stevens and granddaughter, Stacy Stevens.
