Bio

Royce Eldon Watts was born December 26, 1930 in Lockhart, Texas to Winford Watson and Mamie Elizabeth (Taylor) Watts. He passed away February 6, 2009, at the age of 78 years, 2 months, and 11 days. He lived in Edcouch, Texas most of his life until moving to Elk City in 2004. He entered the United States Army in 1952 and served in the Korean War from 1954-56. After his discharge, he returned to his wife and family working in the oilfield throughout Texas before becoming a mechanic. Royce married Ellen Louise Johnston on June 3, 1954 and together they raised three daughters in which they cherished very much. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, four brothers and four sisters. Survivors include his daughters- Lou Ellen Fritts and husband Jimmy of Palmer, Alaska, Brenda Ramsey and husband Mitchell of Afton, Oklahoma, and Charlotte Darling and husband Jody of Elk City, Oklahoma. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren- Roy Fritts and wife Maija, Amy Ehmann and husband Jim, Hollis Ramsey and wife Keely, Bryan Ramsey, Kevin Ramsey and wife Cassie, Marcus Darling and wife Tiffany, and Kristi Harman and husband Daren. He also leaves 12 Great-grandchildren- Haley Fritts, Kade Fritts, Aiden Ehmann, Ayla Ehmann, Mikayla Ramsey, Cody Ramsey, Caleb Ramsey, Wyatt Ramsey, Jayden Darling, Kolton Darling, Addison Darling, Dason Harman and one more due in August. Also he is survived by 2 sisters- Maggie Cochran of Barksdale, Texas and Anna Lee Heerssen of Roswell, Georgia and 1 brother J.D. Watts of Mathis Lake, Texas.
