Bio
Russell Fredrick Uttecht, age 57, of O’Neill, Nebraska, passed away on Thursday, August 11, 2016 at Avera St. Anthony’s Hospital in O’Neill. He was born on April 21, 1959 in Norfolk, Nebraska, the son of Delmar and Janice (Asmus) Uttecht. Russ attended elementary school in Stanton and graduated in 1977 from Norfolk High School. His adult life took him many places as a ranch hand and over the road truck driver. Russ’ life was centered around enjoying the outdoors as he worked with friends at feed yards and Norfolk Livestock Market. In June 2004, he married Colette Clark of O’Neill. They made their home in O’Neill where he was able to continue his love for ranchland and travel. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed bull riding and motocross biking as well. Russ is survived by: his wife, Colette; stepsons, Shane (Danielle) Clark and Kent Clark; two step grandchildren, Sierra and Austin; his mother, Janice Uttecht; sisters, Donna (Peter) Lecholat and Debbie (Arddie) Marotz; in laws, Charles and Holly Shane; and several sisters and brothers-in-law from the Shane and Clark families. He was loved by many nieces and nephews. Russ was preceded in death by: his father, Delmar Uttecht; and all of his grandparents. Funeral Services on Tuesday, August 16, 2016 at Christ Lutheran Church in O'Neill. Committal services in Hillcrest Cemetery in Norfolk, Nebraska.
