A funeral will begin at 12:30 p.m. Monday at Memorial Gardens Funeral Chapel for Betty M. Noakes, who died Thursday, Aug., 26, 2004, at Kaiser Sunnyside Hospital in Clackamas, Ore. She was 78. Mrs. Noakes was born April 18, 1926, in Primrose, Neb., and moved to Clark County in 1961. She worked as a bus driver for the La Center School District for 23 years and was a member of the Fargher Lake Grange and American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed playing bingo. A daughter, Beverly Hopkin, preceded her in death. Survivors include her husband of 54 years, Jay, at home; two sons, Russell of Vancouver, and Kenneth of Hagerman, Idaho; one sister, Peggy Carpenter of Vancouver; 12 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
