Bio
Helen Jedlicka, 80, of Schuyler, died Wednesday, Aug. 10, 2016, at Nebraska Methodist Hospital in Omaha. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 16, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Schuyler with the Rev. Jerry Gonderinger as celebrant. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Monday with a 7 p.m. rosary service at Kracl Funeral Chapel and 9:30-10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the church. Committal will be in Schuyler Cemetery. Lunch will follow at St. Mary’s Social Center. Helen was born April 10, 1936, in Stanton to Anton and Frances (Prokupec) Dvorak. She graduated from Stanton High School and earned a teaching certificate from Wayne State Teacher's College. On Sept. 25, 1956, Helen and Elmer Jedlicka were married in Stanton. They lived and farmed near Schuyler and moved into town in 1996. Helen was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and the Guild. She is survived by her daughter, Bert (Tim) Kaup and granddaughter Ashley of Schuyler; son-in-law, Alex Martin and grandchildren Joe and Ginger Martin of Mitchell, South Dakota; three sisters-in-law, Frances Jedlicka of Schuyler and Genevieve Dvorak and Tony Dvorak, both of Colorado; and many nieces and nephews. Helen was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Elmer; daughter, Mary Martin; son, Charles; and grandson, Josh Martin. The Columbus Telegram, Aug. 13, 2016
