ATHENS - Services for Gladys M. Miller, 83, Independence, Mo., formerly of Athens, are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Carroll-Lehr Funeral Home chapel, Athens, with the Rev. Richard Palmer officiating. Burial will be in Oaklawn Memorial Park, Athens. Mrs. Miller died Nov. 25, 2006, in Independence, Mo. She was born March 20, 1923, in Anderson County to the late Hiriam Arnold and Minnie Bell Langston Fletcher. She lived in Henderson County most of her life prior to moving to Independence, Mo. two and one-half years ago. She was co-owner/operator of Miller Construction Co. in Athens, and a rancher while in Athens. She currently was a member of Nolan Road Baptist Church in Independence, Mo. She was preceded in death by her husband, W.N. "Nolan" Miller on May 7, 1994. Survivors include daughters, Charlene Bledsoe, Independence, Mo., Carolyn Monroe, Redding, Calif., and Rose Ann Gorman, Frisco; brother, Travis Fletcher, Tyler; sister, Pauline Johnson, Dallas; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Pallbearers are Michael Bledsoe, Matt Bledsoe, Randy Paris, Clay Davis, Lynn Scarbrough and Dexter Monroe. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
