Grand Island (Nebraska)Daily Independent December 1989 Verna Schulte, 78, of .... died Tuesday at a local care home. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Mary's Cathedral. The Rev. Robert Chamberlain will officiate. Burial will be in Westlawn Cemetery. Visitation will be .... at Livingston-Sondermann Funeral Home .... Mrs. Schulte was born March 21, 1911, in rural Sherman County near Ravenna to Frank and Anna Stenka Michalski. She grew up in Sherman County and received her education at Ravenna. She married Frank TRYBA at Ravenna. They farmed in the Ravenna area. Mr. Tryba and their son died in a fire at their home in 1943. Mrs. Tryba moved to Grand Island and made her home here. In 1945 she married Ralph SCHULTE in Grand Island. They oved to Bellevue for a while and then moved back to Grand Island. She was a member of St. Mary's Cathedral parish and its altar society. Survivors include her husband, Ralph of Grand Island; three sons, John Schulte of Grand Island, Leon Tryba of Eatonton, Ga., and Ben Tryba of Jackson, Ga.; 11 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; two brothers, Leo Michalski of Chapman and Clarence Michalski of St. Paul; three sisters, Mrs. Louie (Helen) Kaslon of Loup City, Mrs. Albert (Matilda) Matejka of Sherburn, Minn., and Mrs. Arnold (Irene) Vieth of Grand Island. She was preceded in death by her first husband, one son, and a brother Floyd Michalski.
