United States Army - Veteran Korean War Veteran ***************************** F.E. “Bubba” Hoefer, Jr., 87, passed away in Ennis, Texas with his loved ones at his side on Friday, August 5, 2016. Bubba was born in Ennis, Texas on March 19, 1929, the son of F.E. and Lillian (Larkin) Hoefer, Sr. He grew up in Ennis and Houston and graduated from Lamar High School in Houston. He served his country proudly in the United States Army during the Korean War. On September 27, 1953 he married his sweetheart Cathryn Rogala and they made their home in Ennis. Bubba had worked at Ennis State Bank for sixty-eight years as a Vice-President. He was the first Drive-Thru teller for Ennis State Bank. He was a fixture at Ennis State Bank and was greatly loved by the customers and co-workers. Bubba’s first love was his family. He loved to travel, England and Scotland was his favorite destinations and if you gave him a chance he would enlighten you on the beauty and history of them. He enjoyed cooking and gardening. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him and his memory will be cherished most by his two daughters: Margaret Faye Hoefer and partner, Jesse Bates and Barbara Ann Cozart and husband, Edward along with two granddaughters: Jessica and Julie. He is preceded in death by his parents and his beloved wife, Cathryn Hoefer on July 19, 2003. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 9, 2016 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary of Ennis. A Celebration of his life will take place on Wednesday, August 10, 2016 at 10 a.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary of Ennis with Deacon Don Griffith officiating. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery under the direction of J.E. Keever Mortuary, Inc. Pallbearers will be: David Smith, James Self, Benny Valek, Chad Rhea, Ricardo Huitron and Ronnie Zmolek. Honorary Pallbearers will be: Francis Rogala, J. Hugh Green, Harold Nash and Johnny Maldonado. {courtesy of J.E.
