Sammie K. Woodward Aug. 25, 1915 -- June 18, 2000 Sammie Karl Woodward, 84, of Turlock died Sunday at Memorial Medical Center, Modesto. Mr. Woodward was a native of Tucumcari, N.M. He returned to Turlock in 1962. He was a salesman for his brother's company, Woody's Poultry Supplies. He had retired after a 22-year career in the Navy and Air Force; he was a decorated veteran of World War II. He belonged to the Kiwanis Club and recently received a Distinguished Service Award. He helped establish the Key Club, a high school branch of Kiwanis, at Turlock High School. He was a member of First United Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife,E. Joyce Woodward of Turlock; children, Dennis Woodward of Zion, Ill., and Terry Woodward, Jan Gibbs and Anne Woodward, all of Turlock; brother, Roy Woodward of San Antonio; and 15 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at First United Methodist Church. Burial will follow at Turlock Memorial Park. Visitation will be from3 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday and from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. Friday at Allen Mortuary. Modesto Bee, The (CA) - Wednesday, June 21, 2000
