Bio

Richard Lee Hakenkamp, 79, of Lincoln, Nebraska, passed away on July 26, 2016. He was born on May 5, 1937 in McCook, Nebraska, the son of Joseph and Clare Hakenkamp. Richard graduated from Cathedral High School in 1956. He was united in marriage to Nancy (Stander) Hakenkamp on May 7, 1960. He was a printer most of his life. He enjoyed his grandchildren and cherished many memories of his cabin in Fremont. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Richard is survived by: his wife Nancy, children: Gary (Diane) Hakenkamp, Vicki (David) Hakenkamp-Brown, and Joseph (Sandy) Hakenkamp; grandchildren, Doug (Emily) Brown, Ryan Hakenkamp, Michelle Hakenkamp, Matthew Hakenkamp; great grandson, Nolan Brown; brothers, Mike (Mary) Hakenkamp, Mark (Karen) Hakenkamp; brother in law and sister in law, Reg and Jean Colbert; many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by: his parents, Joe and Clare Hakenkamp; sisters: Phyllis Ogle, Jo Ellen Vrbka; and brother in law, Denis Vrbka. Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, July 29, 2016. at Saint Joseph Catholic Church, and burial at Lincoln Memorial cemetery. Obituary information from Butherus, Maser and Love Funeral Home.
