Edward Jackson (167425072) Suggested edit: He is buried in Jacob-Boothe Cemetery in Moss Hill Contributor: Amanda Fisher Meanor (50055723) Editor: burial verification negative His death year appears also as 1863 and 1865 in family trees. Please do not suggest a change without a record showing full day/mo/yr. "Edward, born 3 mos. 20, 1813. He was a soldier of the "Lone Star" state 1845-1848, died at Grand Cane, Tx. 1864-1865" Re: Proceedings of the Sesqi-centennial gathering of the descendants of Isaac and Ann Jackson-Harmony Grove, Chester County, Pa. He appears in biographies with middle name Burleson which is likely unproven. The birth record give his siblings as those of Joseph and Mary Bonsall Jackson. Their youngest child was Bonsall Jackson who died as a infant. Other siblings of Joseph and Mary Bonsall(below)also used Bonsall as a middle or first name. This name Burleson could have been in reference to the well known Indian fighter and third Lt. Governor of Texas, Edward Burleson, son of James Burleson who was appointed as commissary by Andrew Jackson, War of 1812. His birth was recorded as the 20th of the third month, probably the Quaker calendar. On Feb. 8, 1834 he enlisted in the U.S. Army at Easton, Pa. His profile was: born Columbia County, age 21, grey eyes, brown hair, fair complexion, 5'8 1/2", occupation carpenter . On Sep. 2, 1839 he is shown on the payroll as a private with the Texas Rangers. It is said he also enlisted in the Civil War and was released for red measles and that soon after returning home, he died. There is a record for E.B. Jackson with Co. C of the 9th Confederate Regiment, mustered Sep 28 1862.
